The Scale.

The word "Scale", when used in music terminology, is from the Italian Scala or ladder. Sometimes i think of the device used for weighing things or people..

Here in Forward Operational Base Yamhill Freedom, i am the primary mess officer. i am by no means a "foodie", "chef", "gourmand", or "gourmet"... however i do enjoy cooking, and the missives of Chairman Kaga. Why am i mentioning this? When i arrived here, i weighed 135-138lbs, clothed. Now dear internet person, i have experienced the full wrath of Winter; the need to constantly stuff your face.

Can you hold that mental picture in your head? Please stop thinking about the beach and that blue drink for one second. It's so cold that people head out to restaurants /bars /inns etc. in droves so that they can:

  1. Get warm on someone elses' dime (you have to pay for heat? what a country -ed)
  2. Drink
  3. Eat
  4. Drink
  5. Eat
  6. GOTO 1

What do i weigh now? We don't have a scale.

yet.

So folks, when you decide to join us here on your own adventures, please make note of your weight- pre Oregon status. We will be collecting data for statistical analysis and will be sending this data to our insect overlords stationed in Zeta1 Reticuli.

Bon appetit, and Aloha!

*here is a scale for you:
